I went to see Grindhouse last night. While this was a good movie, this is not for everybody. I had been reading some reviews about the movie. Critics, and big Hollywood players were disappointed to see how America didn't go see this film. There is also a rumor that they will split up the two films in the next few weeks here in America. So I think this is going to be my everyday views blog from now on. I'll still favor filmmaking. But right now, I just don't have much to say about my journey. So, I will post my thoughts and adventures here as well. Last week I moved into a new apartment. I got a new roommate, and we upgraded the apartment that I have had for 2 years. Video is new to me. I've done web, and print, but when it comes to video, its all just trial and error. There's so much you have to think about. So, I am going to plug my own site. The site itself has nothing to do with with films, right now. But it soon will. Hanger 3 will be featured in my new project. It will have a prominent part. I know its been a while since my past post, but thought I would just say that I haven't given up on being a filmmaker. i am currently working out and idea that will be amazing. The Briefcase is now finished. I've done as much as I'm going to do with it. Its rendering right now. Next step is to finish the DVD lable, cover, and menu system. Then copies will be mailed out to all sorts of film festivals. I have started a new MySpace page. They finally have a profile dedicated for films. So I am moving my page over. The game isn't what I expected. I thought we would have total control over the movie making aspect. We don't. They don't hand over the camera, and you cannot tell the actors exactly what to do. Everything is pre-set. That was very disapointing. But as a game itsself, it pretty fun. But it's not going to make anybody good at filmmaking. Its just a Movie Simulator.

I finally got the ads located on the right of this blog to work correctly. They now shoe relevant info for filmmaking. I know we arn't supposed to click on our own links, but a lot of the sites seem pretty cool. There was one for an online film school that seems pretty comprehensive. Give it a shot. I started shooting some footage to use for the DVD menu system. And I must say, I even have impressed myself by figuring this out. While it won't look truly professional, it will look better than some of these DVD's that you have been buying. I filmed blood splatter, staring down the barrel of a gun, and a few other things. Very cool stuff when it will be put together.

Just wanted to make an update. I am still alive. I put the movie making on hold. Can't believe its been over a year since I started doing this. I got my current job back. I will not be laid off in 2 weeks. A co-worker of mine found himself a new job, and by doing that, has secured my position. But in a way, I wish I didn’t have the job back. I could have used that time to finish my own projects, and build my portfolio. But at least I have a job, and income. I’ll take what I can get.
